Bill of Financial Responsibilities® (BOFR) Receives Standing Ovation at the AMAC Action National Conference
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
More than 300 AMAC Action delegates and members attending the May 19-21, 2022, National Conference of the advocacy affiliate of The Association of Mature American Citizens rose to their feet with sustained applause after hearing about the BOFR’s comprehensive solutions to the federal government’s continued fiscal mismanagement.
Citing the urgency of solving all five of our country’s serious financial management problems, The Founder John Ramsey challenged the assembly of citizen activists to support BOFR at a Convention of The States under Article V of the U.S. Constitution.
Ramsey explained that when our US constitution was written in 1787 our founding fathers failed to establish any rules to properly process and safeguard all the money we send to our central government every year, the sum total of which has grown from $4 million in 1790 to $4 trillion today.
Even though our government is one million times larger we continue to use the same Constitution, with no rules for proper financial management, as we did when our government was just beginning, Ramsey explained.
Quoting Justice Felix Frankfurter who once said, “The history of liberty has largely been the history of the observance of procedural safeguards”, Ramsey stated that without procedural safeguards there is no liberty because we know from history that Congress ignores the laws it passes for the rest of us when those laws require Congress to do something it does not want to do, even if their behavior hurts the country and/or our people.
Since Congress does not police itself, without Constitutional controls our government’s financial abuses continue and fiscal problems like our national debt get worse.
